Westfield's Annual Golf Course Challenge was hosted this year by Shaker Farms Country Club. Westfield's golf courses; Tekoa, East Mountain and Shaker Farms Country Club battled it out on Sunday, Oct. 30th for bragging rights for the Westfield's version of the Ryder Cup. And this year, Shaker Farms Country Club clinched the title on their own turf.
The pros from each club, Ted Perez (East Mountain). E. J. Altobello (Tekoa) and Eric Nelson (Shaker Farms) joined the twelve players from their course to participate in this year's annual event. Dan Kotowtiz, owner of Shaker Farms Country Club, said it best, “It is not who won, or who lost, or who has the lowest handicap, or who had the longest drive, rather, it is the camaraderie of the players that puts the sport of golf in the limelight. A huge thank you to all the golfers, and the pros. The BIGGEST thank you goes to Shaker Farms’ Tournament Committee who organized the qualifying days at Shaker and ran the show along with our pro, Eric
